Guiding Eyes for the Blind

Guiding Eyes is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides superbly bred and trained guide dogs to men and women who are blind or visually impaired. Dogs not suited for guide work may become service dogs for children on the autism spectrum. All Guiding Eyes dogs expand horizons for people to achieve life’s goals.

All services are offered free of charge to people who are blind or visually impaired and to families with children with autism. Guiding Eyes is dependent upon contributions to fulfill its mission. Our Headquarters and Training Center is located in Yorktown Heights, N.Y. and our Canine Development Center is in Patterson, N.Y.

We are an accredited member of the International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF), the organization establishing worldwide standards for the breeding and training of guide dogs

North Carolina Regional Site

[A very young chocolate lab playing in the grass.]Welcome to the North Carolina puppy raisers regional site for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Our goal is to help potential guide dog puppies develop into well adjusted, mannerly young adults. We devote our love and time to raise a potential guide dog from eight weeks to maturity. During this time we teach manners and safely socialize our puppies with varied situations and everyday experiences. After completing additional formal training, pups we raise help blind men and women achieve greater dignity, security and independence.

If you have any questions or would like to participate, please contact us
